Dr. Kristin Boehm leads value analysis programs for Nexera at multiple client sites. Using Nexera’s physician-led approach, she facilitates physician engagement and the integration of value-driven decision-making in new models of healthcare delivery systems. She has been a key player in launching successful value analysis programs at several regional hospitals as well as championing the process for client organizations that are interested in change management strategies.
In her capacity as an industry expert, Dr. Boehm has presented at the AHRMM Conference and Exhibition and the OR Business Management Conference. She has given local seminars, presentations at national industry meetings, authored numerous articles and book chapters, and served as an editor for the Techniques in Aesthetic Plastic Surgery series. She has participated as a physician evaluator in clinical studies devoted to breast and periocular surgeries in addition to providing expert opinions on facial injectables and tissue adhesives.
A member of an Atlanta-based private practice, Dr. Boehm is certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery and the American Board of Surgery. She is a member of the American Society of Plastic Surgeons, the Southeastern Society of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgeons, and the American College of Surgeons. Dr. Boehm serves on the Emerging Trends Committee of the American Society of Plastic Surgeons as well as the Innovative Procedure Committee of the American Society of Aesthetic Plastic Surgeons, both of which examine new technologies.
Dr. Boehm is committed to sharing her skills with individuals in underserved areas. Internationally, she has operated in Dubai and led a medical mission to Beirut where she evaluated and operated on pediatric burn patients in a Palestinian refugee camp. She has also voluntarily operated on burn victims brought to the United States through the Palestinian Children’s Relief Fund.
A cum laude graduate of Dartmouth College with a Bachelor of Arts in Biology, she attended the University of Rochester School of Medicine and Dentistry and obtained her medical degree in 1994. She completed a five-year general surgery residency at the University of Rochester and trained at the University of Utah for her plastic surgery residency. While at the University of Utah, she won the Gaspar W. Anastasi Award, which is presented to the highest rated resident scientific paper at the American Society for Aesthetic Plastic Surgery’s annual meeting. Dr. Boehm was selected for a fellowship in Aesthetic and Oculoplastic Surgery at Paces Plastic Surgery in Atlanta, where she learned from and operated with leaders and innovators in plastic surgery.
